Championship title chasers Leeds United sold academy graduate Alex Mowatt to Yorkshire rivals Barnsley and he is in the League One Team of the Season.

Football has a happy habit of giving out second chances. And Alex Mowatt has seized his with both hands.
While Leeds United produced Premier League players out of Sam Byram, Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor with Kalvin Phillips also tipped for big things, Mowatt’s stock fell as quickly as it rose.
The Doncaster-born midfielder went from strength to strength in his early Leeds career, dominating the centre of the park and putting together a collection of seriously stunning long-range goals.

But he failed to build upon his early promise and, back in January 2017, left Elland Road to join Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley for £600,000 (YEP). And after a sluggish start at Oakwell, not to mention a forgettable loan spell at Oxford United, plenty started to write Mowatt off as another talented youngster who would be left by the wayside.
So the 24-year-old deserves huge credit for fighting back and silencing the doubters. With five goals and eight assists this season, Mowatt has been included in the League One Team of the Season on the back of some fantastic performances in Barnsley colours.
And Leeds fans are thrilled for one of their own.
