Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton got the best out of Jota at Brentford and will hope to do the same with Rangers loanee Emerson Hyndman.

While new Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has been handed the unenviable task of reviving the Ibrox giants following the stuttering end to Mark Warburton’s tenure, the Portuguese at least owes his predecessor a note of thanks for leaving behind Emerson Hyndman.

The attacking midfielder has made quite the impact since Warburton signed him on loan from Bournemouth, scoring four times and becoming the club’s main creative threat.

However, with Warburton given the axe before he was really given the chance to encourage Hyndman’s precocious talent, it’s no surprise that the 55-year-old s hoping to sign him again – this time at his new employers Nottingham Forest, the Scottish Sun reports.

The Daily Record reported that Celtic had hoped to annoy their Old Firm neighbours by swooping for Hyndman next season but the prospect of Hyndman furthering his development in the English game on loan at the City Ground may appeal to Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

And Warburton certainly knows how to pick his playmakers. Back in 2014, then in charge of Brentford, the former city trader took a gamble on 23-year-old Celtic Vigo attacker Jota, the BBC report.

And, in an outstanding first season at Griffin Park, the Spanish schemer netted 11 times in the Championship while adding style and precision to The Bees frontline. In fact, Jota’s fine performances inspired Brentford to a fifth placed finish just a year after earning promotion from League One.

With Nottingham Forest aiming higher than the bottom third of the table next season, Warburton may be on the lookout for another young midfielder, capable of creating and scoring in equal measure.

Therefore, could Hyndman be Forest’s Jota?
