Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Cardiff City and Swansea are all being linked with Bordeaux’s Ligue 1 powerhouse Younousse Sankhare.

There was a notable absentee from the Bordeaux squad who travelled to Washington DC for pre-season training this week. And it is no coincidence that Younousse Sankhare is being heavily linked with a move to the likes of Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.
According to France Football earlier in July, Forest are keen to make the 29-year-old their seventh signing since Sabri Lamouchi took over from Martin O’Neill at the City Ground.
Lamouchi, a former Rennes boss, will know Sankhare from his time in French football.
TEAMtalk claims that Sheffield United and Swansea City are also interested while Cardiff are set to make a bid for a player who can play on the left or in attacking midfield.
Bordeaux are looking for around £4.5 million, as reported by the BBC.

The fact that the Senegal international has been left out of Paolo Sousa’s pre-season squad more than hints that the midfielder’s future lies away from Wine Country.
And before you point out that Senegal are still in action at the African Cup of Nations, set to face Algeria in the final on Friday as they look to win the continental competition for the very first time, Sankhare wasn’t even included in his country’s 23-man roster.
