Phil Parkinson’s League One runners-up, Bolton Wanderers, could do with signing Fred Onyedinma to provide added creativity, but QPR stand in their way.

Though Bolton Wanderers had one of the strongest squads in League One this season, nothing can downplay the job Phil Parkinson has done at the Macron.
Surviving administration, transfer embargoes and the loss of the club’s two most creative players, Zach Clough and Sammy Ameobi, in January, Parkinson’s astute management nonetheless ensured that Bolton would spend just one season in the second tier.
However, he still has work to do to ensure The Trotters can survive in the Championship next season. Therefore, the cash-strapped club cannot look beyond one of the Football League’s most exciting young attackers – who just happens to be available for free.
According to the Football League Paper, Fred Onyedinma is a primary summer target for Queens Park Rangers after an impressive campaign with League One play-off challengers Millwall.
A speedy 20-year-old winger given his senior bow by Ian Holloway in 2014, Onyedinma impressed during The Lions’ prowl to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Therefore, the fact that Holloway is now in charge of QPR appears to give the capital club a major advantage if other clubs make a move for the one-time Wycombe loanee in the summer.
However, Bolton should not give up hope. Parkinson’s side rely heavily on creativity from wide areas and while they cannot match QPR in terms of wages, they could offer Onyedinma regular first-team football in the Championship next season.

And that could be the making of this highly-rated right winger.
The prospect of re-signing Ameobi from Newcastle at the end of the season may appeal to supporters but Onyedinma clearly has the potential to thrive at a higher level and could represent a intelligent investment for Bolton long-term.
