Scott Brown rolled back the years as Neil Lennon’s Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox to go top of the Scottish Premiership.

Scott Brown rolled back the years with a true captain’s performance in Celtic’s Old Firm derby victory against Rangers on Sunday and Boli Bolingoli has admitted that he has been blown away by the veteran’s impact on and off the pitch in recent weeks, speaking to Celtic TV.
The critics were sharpening their knives ahead of The Hoops’ trip to Ibrox. 34-year-old Brown had been written off by many after toiling in a number of high-profile fixtures in recent months, particularly as Celtic were beaten twice by Rangers in the Premiership last season.
But the long-serving skipper showed that there is life in the old dog yet with a masterful display at Ibrox, providing the platform for Celtic to seal a 2-0 win which made them clear favourites to seal a ninth successive league title.
And Bolingoli, the £3 million left-back who arrived in Glasgow from Rapid Vienna over the summer, was left marvelling at his captain’s character and quality.

“The way he plays every game, you can only look up to him. The last game, in the derby, when he went into a duel I was looking at him like ‘damn yeah, that’s a real captain, a real leader’,” said the flying Belgian.
“Off the pitch, he’s a nice guy, a cool guy.”
With Brown at his snarling best, Celtic made a mockery of the pre-match predictions and put Rangers in their place just weeks into the new season.
As the old saying goes, the rumours of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
