Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have announced the signing of USA forward Timothy Weah on loan from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Timothy Weah has a lot to live up to.
The son of AC Milan and African football legend George Weah, the teenage forward arrives on loan at Celtic under pressure to fill the void left by Moussa Dembele’s £19.6 million move to Lyon in August.
As reported by the BBC, Weah’s six-month switch from PSG to Celtic was made official on Tuesday morning with Brendan Rodgers quick to sing the praises of the 18-year-old forward.
“He has really good qualities technically and, tactically, is always improving his game. Physically he’s very good, very fast and is a strong player,” said Rodgers.

But what can Celtic fans expect from a striker who has played more games for his country than he has for his club? Well, the USA fans are perhaps the best people to ask.
After all, they have seen Weah make great strides in the last 12 months, earning eight caps for the USMNT in 2018 alone. And it seems the New York-born attacker is moving to Glasgow with the blessing of his fans from across the Atlantic.
Regular first-team football should only benefit a player who, along with Chelsea-bound Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic, is seen as the future of American soccer.
