Everton are reportedly keen to bring Ndombele to the Premier League with the midfielder starring in Ligue 1 for Lyon.
Is there anything Tanguy Ndombele can’t do?
Since the start of 2018, the Lyon star has established himself as one of the most complete midfielders in European football, looking something of a cross between N’Golo Kante and Yaya Toure, and a masterful talent at both ends of the pitch.
Ndombele is a fearsome and physical presence in front of the defence while only Nabil Fekir and Houssem Aouar have created more chances for Lyon since the start of last season. The 21-year-old has already tallied four assists in 2018/19.
So no wonder Everton fans are thrilled about the prospect of France’s next midfield superstar continuing his rapid rate of development at Goodison Park.
The Liverpool Echo reports that The Toffees have sent chief scout Martyn Glover to watch Ndombele in action with head coach Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands both in agreement that the Merseyside giants need an all-action central midfielder.
And Ndombele, valued at £40 million, is one of the best around. If Everton can beat off competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and secure Andre Gomes from Barcelona on a permanent basis, Silva will have a midfield partnership with genuine world class potential.
