Leeds United are reportedly battling Celtic and Southampton to sign goalkeeper Keiren Westwood from Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been superb since he was thrown in at the deep end by Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom a month ago.
But the fact remains that the 21-year-old academy graduate has only become Leeds’ first-choice because both Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan have performed well below expectations this season.
Wiedwald has been a disaster since his £500,000 move from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen last summer. A series of poor mistakes and an ongoing inability to command his penalty area saw the fans, and then Heckingbottom, quickly lose faith.

So signing Sheffield Wednesday’s Republic of Ireland international Keiren Westwood would go down very well at Elland Road.
According to the Sun Leeds, Celtic and Southampton all want the 33-year-old and, despite the fact he has missed the last four months with a groin injury, Westwood would immediately enhance Heckingbottom’s starting XI.

The veteran shot-stopper has been one of the Championship’s stand-out goalkeepers over the last few seasons. And after a raft of poor signings in the last few transfer windows, this is one transfer the Leeds fans are keen to see happen.
