Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want to sign Ramadan Sobhi from Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town in the summer.
Reports from the Mail that Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to sign Huddersfield Town winger Ramadan Sobhi has raised plenty of eyebrows.
After all, the Egyptian winger has played just 76 minutes of Premier League football since he moved to the John Smith’s stadium for £5.7 million last summer (BBC), having also failed to live up to expectations in the red and white strips of Stoke City.
Sobhi is currently back in his homeland, having joined Al Ahly on loan in January. But it seems the 22-year-old, who has been compared to Mo Salah and Lionel Messi, has emerged from difficult spells at Stoke and Huddersfield with his reputation intact.
The Mail reports that Wolves believe they can help Sobhi realise his undoubted potential at Molineux. But just how good can he be?
According to Saido Berahino, who worked with the skilful forward at Stoke, he could be one of the world’s very best.
“He’s got every potential to be a world class player,” Berahino told Copa90 back in 2017.
“The kid is only 20 but he’s a joke. He’s proper good. He’s quiet, very reserved and he’s about his job.”
Considering the rapid progress Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves and Ivan Cavaleiro have made under Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves, the former Porto and Valencia boss might be the perfect coach to get the best out of another raw talent.
