Manchester United want to snatch Everton starlet Beni Beningime with his contract due to expire next summer.

Ronald Koeman, Manager of Everton shows appreciation to the fans after Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on May 12, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Everton may have spent over £150 million this summer in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and the Premier League’s elite but that is not to say big-money signings will arrive at the detriment of their young stars.

The Toffees’ Under-23s lifted the Premier League B title last season and manager Ronald Koeman is more than willing to give the club’s standout academy stars the chance to prove themselves in the first-team.

Mason Holgate and Tom Davies (below) are now regulars in the senior side, the latter even keeping out £20 million former Ajax skipper Davy Klaassen in recent weeks. 19-year-old Beni Beningime, then, should keep that in mind as he prepares to make a crucial decision on his Everton future. According to The Mail, the highly-rated midfielder, likened to Chelsea’s omnipotent enforcer N’Golo Kante by Under-23 boss David Unsworth, is out of contract next summer and has been attracting interest from Manchester United.

Awarded the Keith Tamblin award for his performances last year, Beningime only inked professional terms last year but Everton are already needing to tie him down to a longer deal of risk losing him for nothing in a few months time.

While Manchester United boast perhaps the most famous academy in England, however, Everton are making real strides behind the scenes Beningime appears to be in the perfect place to hone his undoubted talents.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that it is far easier on paper to force your way into an underperforming Everton side than an all-conquering United team.
