Sam Johnstone kept a rare clean sheet as West Bromwich Albion beat Championship rivals Swansea City at The Hawthorns on Wednesday.

Ben Foster has singled out fellow goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in the aftermath of West Bromwich Albion’s 3-0 win against Swansea City on Wednesday night.
There was plenty of focus on the Baggies as they welcomed Graham Potters’ Swans to The Hawthorns in midweek. This was, after all, their first game since the controversial sacking of manager Darren Moore on Saturday.
But caretaker manager Jimmy Shan could hardly have asked for a better response.
Goals from Jay Rodriguez, Chris Brunt and Mason Holgate sealed a 3-0 win in a game that will perhaps be best remembered for a bizarre penalty miss from Swansea attacker Bersant Celina.
The result could have been very different, however, if it was not for an inspired performance from Johnstone.

The former Aston Villa loanee has come in for plenty of criticism since his £6.5 million move from Manchester United (BBC) but he produced arguably his finest performance for West Brom against Swansea.
Johnstone made a glorious fingertip save to deny Celina with Wayne Routledge, Daniel James and Connor Roberts also kept off the scoresheet by the in-form shot-stopper.
No wonder former Baggies ‘keeper Foster was impressed.
