Raul Jimenez was the match-winner as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Burnley 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Raul Jimenez spent the last two years on the bench in Benfica. So the jury was certainly out when Wolverhampton Wanderers signed a striker who had started just 12 league games since the start of 2016/17.
Particularly as Jimenez is set to be Wolves’ go-to centre forward for the foreseeable future.
Fortunately, however, the Mexican international has settled into life at Molineux very nicely. After scoring a wonderful header on his debut against Everton on the opening day, Jimenez added a second goal to his tally with a crucial winner against Burnley on Sunday.

Wolves were by far the better team but wasted countless chances against Sean Dyche’s side. Yet Jimenez stepped up when it mattered, clinically converting a Matt Doherty cross to ensure that at least one of his side’s 30 efforts on goal hit the back of the net.
And it is fair to say the former Atletico Madrid striker already has plenty of fans in the Black Country. Blessed with excellent control and intelligent link-play, not to mention an eye for goal, the early signs suggest that Jimenez could be the perfect centre forward for Nuno Espirito Santo’s system.
