Toby Alderweireld remains with Spurs and in the Premier League for now but don’t rule out the Bundesliga and La Liga champions, Bayern and Barcelona

Like it or not, Premier League clubs can no longer sign players this summer.
The majority of top flight teams voted to close the window early this year. And the downside is that they now have two weeks to worry about clubs on the continent snapping up their star men with no time to sign a replacement.
And though Spurs fans can rest easy knowing that Toby Alderweireld won’t be playing against them in the Premier League this season, it is impossible to rule out the Belgian defender attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs elsewhere in Europe.
According to Sky Bet, Alderweireld is 6/1 to sign for Bayern Munich before the end of August.
Bayern have been criticised in some quarters for failing to adequately reinforce an ageing team and a new, commanding centre-back could still be required if Jerome Boateng does leave the Allianz Arena.

Interestingly, Sky Bet also has Barcelona as 6/1 favourites to sign the one-time Atletico Madrid loanee. Alderweireld moving to the Camp Nou seems less likely, however, as Barca can already call upon Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and the £30 million new signing Clement Lenglet.
Aldeerweireld appeared to hint on Twitter that he was staying at Spurs, but until August is over, that won’t stop fans fearing the worst.
