Wolverhampton Wanderers have not only been signing experienced Portuguese internationals in the last few transfer windows.

The Premier League newcomers have also been scouring the market for talented youngsters as they aim to build a bright future at Molineux with 18-year-old winger Daniel Wang joining from Jumilla this week.

But it seems that the highly-regarded Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo won’t be joining the likes of Pedro Goncalves, Ruben Vinagre and co at Molineux.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who has emerged as the latest exciting defensive talent in French football, was linked with a move to Molineux by La Depeche.

Though, according to Sport, Todibo looks like one that got away. It is understood that Wolves have been blown out of the water by none other than Barcelona with the La Liga champions sealing the signing of the Ligue 1 teen.

Todibo, who is out of contract at the end of the season, will sign a four-year deal and move to the Camp Nou in the summer. He has been identified by Barcelona’s director of football, the former France defender Eric Abidal no less, as a potential star of the future.

So Wolves might be left wondering what might have been.
