Championship hopefuls West Bromwich Albion are reportedly battling to sign former Wolves winger Bakary Sako.

No side in the Championship has scored more goals so far this season than West Bromwich Albion. In just six league matches, the Baggies have hit the net 16 times.
And, while almost half of those goals came in the 7-1 thrashing of QPR, it is impossible to ignore the dramatic change in West Brom’s approach compared to the reign of arch-pragmatist Tony Pulis.
Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez are in good form, while Matt Phillips and Harvey Barnes have been superb so far.
So the whole Championship should be very wary about the Baggies signing Bakary Sako.
According to the Sun (9 September, page 63), West Brom are battling Nottingham Forest for free agent Sako, while Aston Villa and Middlesbrough are understood to be interested, too. The 30-year-old is without a club after leaving Crystal Palace in the summer.

The last time Sako played in the second tier, he scored 15 goals and set up seven more for West Brom’s Midland rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. With real pace and power in those boots, his arrival would only enhance an already in-form Baggies attack.
So West Brom signing Sako could make them the team to beat.
