Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Eric Bailly while Premier League rivals Manchester United have been heavily linked with Toby Alderweireld.

For the second January transfer window in a row, could we see a massive swap deal take place between a club from Manchester and one of the North London giants?
According to the Mirror, Eric Bailly is keen to leave Manchester United in January and Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan. The £30 million Ivorian international – Jose Mourinho’s first signing at Old Trafford – has fallen down the pecking order since a dismal display in the 3-2 defeat Brighton in August.
But Spurs’ reported interest could open up a window of opportunity for United.
According to the Mirror, Toby Alderweireld is desperate to join United and is willing to refuse offers from elsewhere to make it happen. It is well documented that the Belgian’s contract expires in 2019 and, although he remained past the summer transfer deadline, this is a saga that is only going to rumble on.

So perhaps the best move for all parties is for Bailly and Alderweireld to simply swap clubs. Both defenders are likely to be valued at a similar price-tag anyway.
24-year-old Bailly is the sort of raw talent Pochettino tends to get the best out of, while Alderweireld is an experienced, battle-scarred winner, the likes of which have thrived frequently under Mourinho.
