Scottish Premiership champions Celtic reportedly want to sign Swansea City’s Welsh international right-back Connor Roberts in the January transfer window.

Swansea City fans are used to seeing their key players leave.
Lukas Fabianski, Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez all bid farewell to the Liberty Stadium in the summer after their relegation from the Premier League, one year after star attacking duo Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente were sold to Everton and Tottenham respectively.
So little wonder suggestions that Connor Roberts could sign for Celtic haven’t gone down too well.

It is no secret that Celtic are eyeing a long-term successor for Mikael Lustig at right-back and The Express reports that Swansea’s Welsh international Roberts is on their radar as Brendan Rodgers plans to raid his former club.
The academy graduate has emerged as a key player for club and country this season, starting 17 Championship games under Graham Potter. And the 23-year-old’s departure would leave a big gap in Swansea’s starting XI.
Understandably, the fans are desperate for him to stay.
Worryingly for Swansea fans who have become increasingly disillusioned with how things are being run behind the scenes at the Liberty in recent years, The Sun (16 November, page 62) reported that the South Wales giants could be forced to sell Roberts having struggled to extend a contract that expires at the end of the season.
