Celtic failed to lure Tosin Adarabioyo to Parkhead from Premier League giants Manchester City but a move to the Scottish Premiership is still possible.

Tosin Adarabioyo could have been playing regular domestic and European football this season, honing his development, adding to his first-team experience and closing in on a first league title of his career.

Instead, the highly-rated centre-back performed a dramatic U-turn and signed a five-year contract at Manchester City in the summer, just when it appeared that he was set to leave on a free.

Celtic had been among the clubs keen to offer Adarabioyo a new home, as reported by the Mail. And after six more months of trying and failing to break into City’s first-team, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that a move to Parkhead could still happen.

Because the Mail now adds that Premier League leaders City have made the 20-year-old available for loan. Adarabioyo has made just three appearances all season and will be pushed further down the pecking order by the £57 million arrival of Aymeric Laporte.

And with Celtic still keen to add another defender to their ranks, Brendan Rodgers should once again make a move for the England youth star.

Jack Hendry of Dundee in action during the pre season friendly between Brechin City and Dundee at Glebe Park on July 11, 2017 in Brechin, Scotland.

The Hoops have made two bids for 22-year-old Jack Hendry but are unlikely to meet Dundee’s £1.5 million price-tag, as reported by the Sunday Post. So it would be little surprise to see Celtic end their pursuit and turn their attentions to Adarabioyo instead.

He, like Hendry, is a young, promising, ball-playing centre-back. And if Celtic are keen to avoid spending big, renewing their interest in Adarabioyo is something of a no-brainer.
