Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak has told the club’s official Twitter account that manager Steve Bruce has brought discipline to the Championship side, coinciding with their impressive run of form.
Villa are still unbeaten since the former Birmingham boss took over from Roberto Di Matteo last month, meaning they are now just five points adrift of Leeds United in the final play-off position.
Consequently, there is renewed optimism around a club that has been embroiled in a spiral of seemingly endless desperation for over five years, with a belated promotion push not entirely out of the question under a manager who guided Hull City to the top flight on two separate occasions.
And Jedinak, who became something of a scapegoat at Villa Park among some sections of the support after a dismal run of form since arriving from Crystal Palace, has lauded the impact Bruce has had on the squad as a whole.
Victories over Reading, Fulham and Blackburn have headlined Bruce’s influence at the Midlands giants, but perhaps his most important contribution can be to transform the club behind the scenes and remedy the poisonous atmosphere that has enveloped Villa from the pitch to the boardroom in recent years.
