Jarrod Bowen can’t stop scoring in the Championship for Hull City, apparently catching the eye of numerous Premier League clubs.

Almost every team in English football has their very own ‘one that got away’.

Ryan Giggs spent time at Manchester City before going on to enjoy unrivalled success with the club down the road while Arsenal missed out on landing a fresh-faced Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Burnley, meanwhile, famously failed to sign a pre-Chelsea Michael Essien.

And Jarrod Bowen could soon be Aston Villa’s big regret.

According to The Guardian, the winger had a trial period at Villa Park at the age of just 10, only to be turned away. Now, aged 22, Bowen is going from strength to strength and establishing himself as one of the most promising talents in English football.

He has nine goals in his last eight games for a high-flying Hull City and, as a result, has been scouted by numerous Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Leicester and Burnley according to The Mirror.

It is understood that Spurs will bid £12 million – though Sky believes Hull will demand closer to £20 million.

So Aston Villa fans could be forgiven for wondering what might have been. There are few players in the Championship who could be considered a bigger prospect than their influential number 10 Jack Grealish but Bowen is arguably the most dangerous attacker in the entire division right now.

Villa not only missed out on a dazzling young talent but a substantial transfer fee too.
