Arsenal reportedly wanted to sign Sami Khedira from Serie A champions Juventus last summer; could it be second time lucky for the Gunners?

Arsenal could have a second chance to sign the German international midfielder Sami Khedira from Juventus this summer, with Calciomercato reporting that he is likely to bid farewell to the Serie A champions.
The 31-year-old has been plying his trade in Turin since his 2015 transfer from Real Madrid and he is on the verge of a fourth Serie A title under Max Allegri. But Khedira has struggled for game time in 2018/19, with the emergence of Rodrigo Bentancur and the arrival of Emre Can forcing him down the pecking order.
With Aaron Ramsey having already agreed a move to the Allianz Stadium, this could ironically pave the way for Khedira to make the switch to North London.
Calciomercato reports that Juventus turned down an offer from Arsenal last summer but they could get their man this time around if they renew their interest.

Khedira is under contract until 2021 but it seems unlikely that Juventus would demand a substantial fee, given that he is the wrong side of 30 and has fallen to fifth or sixth in the pecking order.
Should the 2014 World Cup winner join Unai Emery’s side, he would add experience alongside the youthful exuberance of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
