Nicolas Pepe’s 17 Ligue 1 goals for Lille has reportedly caught the eye of Premier League Arsenal and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Arsenal are at risk of missing out on one of their top transfer targets after Bayern Munich made a staggering £68 million bid for Nicolas Pepe, according to BeIN Sports.

The Ivory Coast international has been a revelation across the Channel this season, scoring 17 goals and producing eight assists to ensure a Lille side who narrowly avoided relegation a year ago look set to secure qualification for the Champions League.

Arsenal are allegedly big fans of the winger, with the Times reporting that he has been lined up for a big-money move to the Emirates. Pepe would give an Arsenal side chock full of talented play-makers a natural option out wide.

But Unai Emery could have to work within a budget of just £40 million this summer, according to Football London, meaning that Pepe may simply be out of their reach.

Especially with Bayern offering £68 million, a fee that would see Pepe overtake French midfielder Corentin Tolisso as the club’s record signing.

The Bundesliga champions are embarking upon a huge overhaul with veteran wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery set to leave in the summer. Pepe would arrive under big pressure at the Allianz Arena.
