Hoffenheim whizzkid Nadiem Amiri could move to North London – but Alexander Rosen may give Arsenal the edge over Tottenham Hotspur.

Rosen

It’s not just 29-year-old head coach Julian Nagelsmann who should take the credit for leading Hoffenheim into the Champions League for the first-time in their hitherto unassuming history.

According to The Sun, the village club’s esteemed Director of Football, Alexander Rosen, is a new candidate to become the first man to take the job at Arsenal. And, if his CV is anything to go by, he’s certainly not a bad option.

After all, Rosen unearthed Nagelsmann and gave him an opportunity in the midst of a relegation battle last season while many scoffed, appalled and predicted their doom. He is also a master of the transfer market, discovering young, under-the-radar talents like Roberto Firmino and Sebastian Rudy before selling them on for a huge profit.

Though while Arsenal would surely benefit from appointing the brains behind Hoffenheim’s success, Tottenham Hotspur may be hoping he is not offered a role at The Emirates.

Because Arsenal may well jump into the driving seat for one of their North London neighbour’s most highly-rated transfer targets.

Amiri

Red or White?

Bild claims that technically gifted midfielder Nadiem Amiri has been scouted by Spurs on a number of occasions this season, and Mauricio Pochettino’s penchant for developing young talent appears to make the capital a more likely destination than Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old German youth international sprung onto the scene in the second half of last season and has made great strides this; his work-rate and eye for a pass making him one of the first names on Nagelsmann’s team-sheet.

Amiri

The problem, however, is that Amiri is a typical Arsenal midfielder, all incisive passes and intelligent link-play. And, if Rosen moves to The Emirates, it surely won’t take long for links to emerge between Amiri and Arsenal.

It’s in Spurs’ best interests, therefore, if The Gunners look elsewhere to fill their newly created role.
