Scottish Premiership and Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers could go head-to-head to sign Kilmarnock talisman Youssouf Mulumbu in the summer.

Youssouf Mulumbu is very happy to have been linked with a move to Rangers this summer.
The 31-year-old midfielder has been a revelation since joining Kilmarnock on a short-term contract back in November. In fact, he has been so impressive that Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers, who Mulumbu inspired wins against in the last few months, are both keen to sign him when his contract expires this summer according to the Scottish Sun.
And, when asked about being linked with a club the size of Rangers, the former West Brom powerhouse didn’t hold back.

“I’m not going to lie to you, it’s an honour to have my name linked with those teams but I don’t even know if it’s rumours or if it’s true,” the Congolese international told the Scottish Sun.
“I’m proud of that. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I’m proud.”
Clearly, Mulumbu would jump at the chance of moving to Ibrox if the option presented itself this summer. And his pride at being linked with one of the most historic and successful sides in European football is a reminder of just what a giant of a club Rangers truly are – and these comments could hardly be better timed in light of the whole Alfredo Morelos saga.

Speaking to the Daily Record earlier this week, the Colombian striker once again stated his desire to move to the Premier League – hardly hiding the fact that he most likely sees Rangers, and Scottish football as a whole, as something of a stepping stone.
Mulumbu, however, should be a reminder Morelos that he is already at a massive club.
