Championship giants Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing John McGinn from Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.

Aston Villa appear to be locked in financial meltdown, desperately needing to raise £40 million to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions and being forced to sell a number of key players with Jack Grealish and James Chester tipped to follow John Terry out the door.
The BBC even reports that there have been fears of administration at Villa Park.

It is understood that Villa see McGinn, who has one year left on his contract but is still valued at £5 million, as a potential bargain signing with the club likely to need new players to replace those heading for the exit.
The Record adds that Villa manager Steve Bruce has been given glowing recommendations of McGinn from his fellow Scotland internationals Alan Hutton and Robert Snodgrass. And Villa could use some of the money they will bring in through the seemingly inevitable sale of Grealish to fund a deal for the 23-year-old Hibs dynamo.

But fans of the green-clad Edinburgh giants clearly do not expect to see McGinn wearing claret and blue next season.
