Moussa Marega has scored 20 Primeira Liga goals for FC Porto, earning the admiration of Premier League duo Everton and West Ham United.

Thanks to the spectre of Financial Fair Play, FC Porto could be forced to cash in on a few of their biggest talents during the summer transfer window.

And this bodes well for both Everton and West Ham, with A Bola claiming that they are fighting it out to sign the prolific Moussa Marega.

The 26-year-old is in the form of his life right now and has scored 22 goals for Porto this season, helping Sergio Conceicao’s men to the top of the Primeira Liga table. With a £35 million release clause in his contract, however, Marega would not come cheap.

But are Everton and West Ham even looking at the right Porto forward?

Marega might have scored five goals more than his strike partner Vincent Aboubakar this season but, if it is a powerful, line-leading talisman the Toffees and the Hammers are after, the Cameroon international should be right at the top of their list.

Marega is a naturally versatile forward, capable of pulling out wide and running at defenders with skill and pace. Aboubakar, however, would give Everton and West Ham a powerful presence they have been lacking in attack for most of this season.

And he is proven over a longer period, too, and in different leagues. Aboubakar scored for fun during his breakthrough in Ligue 1 with Lorient and fired Besiktas to the Super Lig title last season.

So Everton and West Ham should have a look at Aboubakar before they make Marega their top target.
