Baily Cargill has made a positive impression since swapping Bournemouth for Partick Thistle in January, and Celtic should be watching him closely.

Celtic signed one of the most promising defensive talents in the Scottish Premiership when they paid £1.5 million to land Jack Hendry from Dundee on January’s deadline day, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
But there could still be a place for another new centre-back at Celtic come the summer, with the futures of Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko all far from certain.
And with the Mail reporting that a number of sides north of the border are having a close look at Partick Thistle’s impressive 22-year-old loanee Baily Cargill, it would be little surprise to learn that he is the latest fresh-faced prospect to catch Brendan Rodgers’ eye.

Cargill joined the Glasgow side on loan from Bournemouth as recently as the final week of January but has already played six times for the club, including two one-goal defeats to Celtic in both league and cup.
A left-footed centre-half who can also play at full-back, the former England under-20 star is out of contract in the summer, however. And after featuring just 11 times for Bournemouth, it seems unlikely as things stand that he will be kept on.

So with Cargill soon to be available on a free, Celtic should keep a close eye on his development a few miles across Glasgow.
Young, promising and blessed with impressive technical ability, Cargill is the kind of player Celtic have prided themselves on signing in recent years, with an eye to selling them on for a decent profit somewhere down the line.
