Scottish Premiership giants sold the much-criticised Josh Windass to Wigan Athletic – but Liverpool loanee Ovie Ejaria is already taking his place it seems.

No matter what Josh Windass did at Rangers, he was never going to win over that section of the support who criticised his every move.
The midfielder finished last season as the club’s joint top scorer with 18 goals in all competitions. But there was still plenty who said ‘good riddance’ as Rangers sold Windass to Wigan Athletic last week for £2.5 million.
Though it seems that there is already a new scapegoat to take Windass’ place – Ovie Ejaria.

There is no doubting the 20-year-old’s talent. One of three summer signings from Steven Gerrard’s former club Liverpool, loanee Ejaria is a technically gifted and composed midfielder blessed with great balance and intelligence in possession.
Scottish football, however, is about far more than that. The game is still notoriously physical and unforgiving north of the border and there is certainly an argument to be made that Ejaria needs plenty of time to adapt after cruising at academy level, where time and space on the ball are almost guaranteed.
So it is far too soon for some to write off Ejaria. Gerrard obviously sees his potential otherwise he wouldn’t have been such a regular starter at the beginning of the new campaign.
