Antonee Robinson is confident he has a future at Everton despite spending successive campaigns on loan away from Goodison Park, while speaking to US Soccer.

A Milton Keynes born left-back who has earned six caps for the American national team thanks to his New York-hailing father, Robinson is currently honing his trade with Wigan Athletic having impressed for Bolton Wanderers in the 2017/18 campaign.

While Wigan are struggling towards the bottom of the table, the 21-year-old loanee has still earned plenty of credit thanks to his swashbuckling style and boundless energy.

But does Robinson believe that his future lies at Everton?

“It feels great to know that Everton have faith in me with this contract,” said the defender, who signed a three-year deal last August.

“Even though at the minute they feel I might not be quite ready for the Premier League with the team they have, they do feel I’ve got a future with them. They just want me to get loaned out and get that experience.”

Robinson is set to return to Merseyside this summer.

With long-serving Leighton Baines out of contract at the end of the season, the youngster may be hoping he will be promoted to the first-team squad as the new back-up for Lucas Digne ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

His speed and impressive crossing ability certainly stands him in good stead, with head coach Marco Silva a big fan of attacking full-backs.
