After just 10 La Liga starts for Espanyol, Iglesias is being linked with a big-money move to the Premier League and Spurs.

It seems that Tottenham Hotspur fans have been split into two distinct groups amid their shock interest in Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias – those who are avid watchers of Spanish football and those who aren’t.
Iglesias only moved to the Catalan club in the summer following years mulling around the lower league with Celta Vigo’s B team, and a prolific 2017/18 loan spell at Real Zaragoza, but the late-blooming striker has taken to life in La Liga with ease.
He has scored six times in 10 top flight games for Espanyol, including four goals in his last three to fire the Periquitos to second in the table behind local rivals Barcelona.

And El Gol Digital is now reporting that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to raid his former club and could trigger the £25 million release clause in Iglesias’ contract.
You can understand why Spurs fans would be a little concerned. The last time they paid big money to sign a La Liga striker didn’t exactly go to plan after all with the former Valencia talisman Roberto Soldado forever remembered for in North London his remarkable ability to clear the crossbar from six yards.

But those who have watched Iglesias score goals for fun in an Espanyol shirt believe the striker is a £25 million risk worth taking.
