Martin O’Neill has been sacked by Nottingham Forest; now will Joe Lolley be on his way to the Premier League with Aston Villa?

Well, it only took two-time European Cup winner Martin O’Neill five months to erode his legendary status at Nottingham Forest.
The veteran manager arrived in January with the hope of taking his former club back to the Promised Land of the Premier League. Instead, he’s been sacked five months later after falling out with key players and irritating fans with his far from expansive style of football, as reported by the Guardian.
And, while many Forest fans up and down the country are celebrating being free from the O’Neill regime, his sudden exit has also gone down very well with Aston Villa supporters.

Why? Because they feel that the door has now swung open for Joe Lolley to make a dream move to his boyhood club.
Lolley has never hid his love for the Midland giants and, according to The Sun (2 June, page 59), that admiration is mutual. After he ripped them apart in last season’s thrilling 5-5 draw, the report claims that Aston Villa would love to get Lolley wearing claret and blue even if he will cost a hefty £15 million.
And with Forest once again embroiled in instability, this could be the perfect time to make a deal happen.
