Striker Andy Dallas is yet to make his Scottish Premiership debut for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

Andy Dallas has admitted to considering a loan move away from Rangers this summer as he is concerned about a lack of regular first-team football under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, speaking to the Evening Times.
The 19-year-old’s fears are understandable. Jermaine Defoe and Alfredo Morelos scored five of The Gers’ six goals in their Europa League qualifying victory against St Joseph’s of Gibraltar on Thursday night and will remain Gerrard’s first choice strikers heading into the new season.
Kyle Lafferty is still a Rangers player despite incessant speculation over his future and then there’s new signing Greg Stewart, who has been playing as a number nine in pre-season.
So the chances of Dallas forcing his way into the starting XI look slim. The 19-year-old is yet to make his Premiership debut but a spells out on loan at Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton have clearly given him the taste for life in the professional game.
“At the moment I’m back at Rangers and I’ll see what the plan is for me. I’ll have a sit down with the coaches and have a good think,” said the teenager, who failed to score in 12 Championship games for Jonatan Johansson’s Morton.

“I feel like the loan option is a good one for younger players like myself because the gap between reserve and first team football is massive.”
Rangers haven’t been afraid to loan some of their fringe players out of late and a spell away from Ibrox certainly worked wonders for Greg Docherty, a revelation at Shrewsbury Town who returned to Glasgow with his confidence and reputation through the roof.
And Dallas would surely be better off taking a leaf out of Docherty’s books.
Playing regularly in the second tier, for example, would be far more useful than sitting in the stands or spending the next 12 months stuck in the reserves.
