Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Zenit St Petersburg’s Russian World Cup hero Artem Dzyuba to the Premier League.
Everton could reportedly look to bring one of the stars of last summer’s World Cup to Goodison Park before the transfer window slams shut.
It is no secret that the Toffees are looking for a natural centre-forward to lead the line but, with funds tight for now, RT claims they are looking at a potential bargain deal for Artem Dzyuba.,
A 30-year-old bull of a front man who plys his trade for Zenit St Petersburg, Dzyuba became a national hero as Russia reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup on home soil, scoring three goals in five matches.
He has continued that impressive form at club level this season, hitting the net ten times while producing another seven assists for Sergei Semak’s Zenit.
But what could Everton fans expect from Dzyuba?
Speaking to Express back in 2015, former Goodison Park hero Andrei Kanchelskis raved about the striker’s qualities and compared him to an ex-England international and Liverpool favourite.
“Dyzuba reminds me of Peter Crouch,” said Kanchelskis, who played for Everton between 1995 and 1997.
“Would Artem Dzyuba go to the English Premier League? He is progressing, and this is good.”
Standing at 6ft 5ins, the former Rostov and Spartak Moscow man is two inches smaller than Crouch, but you can see where Kanchelskis is coming from.
He is a striker who boasts a fearsome aerial presence and he would give Everton something completely different in attack.
