Andre Moreira failed to make a single Championship appearance in his time at Aston Villa while on loan from 2014 La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

Andre Moreira will go down as one of the more forgettable signings in Aston Villa’s recent history.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper moved to Villa Park on loan from Atletico Madrid in August but, despite arriving with a big reputation from Spain, Moreira failed to produce any sort of a lasting impression in the Midlands.
He made just two appearances and both came in the EFL Cup. Even stopping a penalty in a 1-0 win against Yeovil Town did not save Moreira from criticism, the Portugal U21 international looking nervy throughout against League Two opposition.
So when Villa splashed out £7 million on Croatia number one Lovre Kalinic, before bringing Jed Steer back from Charlton Athletic, few were surprised when Moreira’s loan spell was cut short.
The 6ft 5ins shot-stopper quickly moved to Feirense in Portugal but is he showing Villa what they are missing in his latest spell away from Atletico? Not exactly.

Moreira has started four games so far for Feirense but has been on the losing side each time. To make matters worse, he has been beaten 11 times already, including in a 4-0 thrashing against a Nacional side who were beaten 10-0 by Benfica the week before.
Feirense are bottom of the Primeira Liga table and relegation would perhaps be a fitting end to a dreadful season for Moreira.
