Alfredo Morelos scored his 27th goal of the season in Rangers’ 4-0 Scottish Premiership win against Dundee at Ibrox.

Former Rangers midfielder Alex Rae has claimed on Twitter that Alfredo Morelos should be a shoo-in for the Scottish Player of the Year award.
Morelos might have made headlines for the wrong reasons at times this season, being sent off four times with his disciplinary problems continuing. But the firebrand Colombian has been in remarkable form in the final third, scoring his 27th goal of a prolific campaign in Wednesday’s 4-0 thrashing of Dundee at Ibrox.
And Rae believes that Morelos should be rewarded with the Player of the Year award as a result.
Celtic, who are eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, may disagree. They have a number of viable candidates after all with James Forrest, who is enjoying the best season of his career, surely the Hoops’ most likely Player of the Year winner.
Forrest has scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in all competitions.
The most recent Rangers player to win the award was Steven Davis back in 2010. Celtic have won seven of the last eight gongs; a run only broken by Motherwell forward Michael Higdon six years ago.
