West Ham United have reportedly offered £8.5million to bring Guillermo Maripan to the Premier League from Deportivo Alaves.

Any club hoping to sign Guillermo Maripan this summer must trigger his £23 million release clause, Alaves’ sporting director Sergio Fernandez has told Marca.
The Chilean international has been a big hit in Spain this season, helping unfancied Alaves force their way into contention for a European qualification place. The Basque-based outfit are currently fifth in La Liga, just two points behind another surprise package Getafe.
La Segunda reported recently that West Ham United were interested and had even offered £8.5 million for Maripan.
But the Hammers will have to pay a lot more than that if they want to lure the 24-year-old to the London Stadium during the off-season.
“If a club wants Maripan, they must pay his release clause, which is set at £23 million,” Fernandez told Marca.

A ball-playing and intelligent centre-back who has been likened to one Gerard Pique, Goal reports that Barcelona have also expressed an interest in Maripan.
So West Ham could have a big task on their hands even if they are willing to pay the £23 million Alaves want for one of their most important players.
Maripan could be the most expensive defender in West Ham’s history, in or around the fee they paid for Issa Diop last summer.
