Benfica loanee Raul Jimenez scored his 12th Premier League goal of the season as Wolverhampton Wanderers sealed a draw at Stamford Bridge.

Alan Shearer has paid tribute to Raul Jimenez after the striker’s impressive performance in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, speaking on Match of the Day 2 (10 March, 10.25pm).
The Mexican international has enjoyed a brilliant debut season in English football and scored his 12th Premier League goal of the season this weekend, his shot deflecting off Cesar Azpilicueta to give Wolves a shock lead away at Chelsea.
Eden Hazard fired home a stunning stoppage-time equaliser but that did not distract Shearer’s attention away from Jimenez, who has also scored against Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal in the 2018/19 campaign.
“Jimenez was magnificent for Wolves up front. He held the ball up, great centre forward play,” said the Newcastle legend, who knows a little about thriving as a Premier League striker.

“When you play like that you need a guy up front who can hold the ball up well. I thought Wolves were very, very good today.”
Jimenez is more than just a goalscorer too. He is terrific with his back to goal and boasts a superb range of passing, meaning he is perfect for a Wolves side who line up with one centre-forward and a quicksilver, roving number ten like Diogo Jota.
The 27-year-old is only on loan at Molineux from Benfica but they have the option to sign him permanently for £30 million according to the Express and Star – an option they will surely take up.
