Scottish Premiership giants Rangers and Championship outfit Leeds United have both made moves to sign West Brom’s striking starlet Tyler Roberts.

Tyler Roberts of West Bromwich Albion during the pre season friendly match against Port Vale at Vale Park on August 1, 2017 in Burslem, England.

Celtic have pulled off an outstanding coup beating 24 clubs to the signature of Chelsea winger Charly Musonda.

But Old Firm rivals Rangers are be hoping to strike a rather impressive deal of their own for another Premier League youngster. As reported by The Mail, the Glasgow giants are keen to sign West Brom striker Tyler Roberts for a compensation fee of just £300,000 when his contract expires at the end of the season.

18-year-old Roberts is one of the most exciting young strikers in English football and, understandably, West Brom are loathe to let him go.

And now, with Rangers plotting their plan of action, Baggies boss Alan Pardew has pleased publically for the teenager to put an end to speculation and sign a new contract at The Hawthorns.

“There is some interest from other clubs and I’m very keen to keep him here. We’re in discussions with his agent and the player to secure that,” Pardew, who has recalled Roberts from his loan spell at Walsall to give him a taste of top level Premier League football, told the Express and Star.

Leeds United are also very interested in the Welshman, who West Brom have already offered a new contract to.

The Mail added earlier this month that The Whites had made a bid of £4 million – quite the statement considering that Roberts is out of contract in a few months and Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has seemed unwilling to spend big.

And The Mail added at the weekend that Leeds are currently leading Rangers in the race for Roberts – but if West Brom get their way he will be going nowhere this month.
