Martyn Waghorn scored at a decent rate in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers and recently moved to Championship challengers Derby County.

Did Rangers make a big mistake selling Martyn Waghorn in the summer of 2017? From a financial point of view, cashing in on the hard-working forward for just £250,000 certainly came back to bite them on the backside.
Because, just one year after he was sold for a minimal fee, Derby County paid a hefty £5 million for Waghorn after his fine debut season with Ipswich Town, according to Sky Sports.
The former Sunderland youngster has had a bit of a slow start to life at Pride Park, scoring just once in 11 Championship games under Frank Lampard. But he offered a reminder of his goal-scoring quality in the thrilling EFL Cup defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday, firing home a pinpoint Mason Mount cross in the first-half at Stamford Bridge.
And Alan Brazil has now questioned Rangers’ decision to let Waghorn go.
“Waghorn scored again the other night. We sold him. We sold all our best players,” former Scotland international Brazil told talkSPORT (2 November, 9.45am).
“You look at the owner (Dave King) and say you got what you deserve.”

Waghorn spent two years at Rangers between 2015 and 2017, scoring 28 goals to fire them back into the top flight before netting 16 times in his final campaign at Ibrox.
The 28-year-old then netted 16 goals in the Championship for Ipswich last season, justifying his £5 million price-tag.
