Justin Kluivert is destined to leave Eredivisie giants Ajax eventually and Spurs are one of the Premier League clubs he would happily consider.
Patrick Kluivert was the same age as his son Justin is now when he scored the winner for Ajax in the 1995 Champions League final.
18-year-old Justin, then, has a lot to live up to. And while he has not proved himself on the grandest of stages just yet, Kluivert junior will not be short of offers when he too graduates from the Amsterdam Arena.
As reported by Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have been monitoring the fresh faced winger of late and with good reason. Unlike his centre-forward father, Justin is a rapid, right footed left-winger and he has shone for Ajax ever since breaking into their first-team midway through last season with a flurry of tricks and the odd wonder-goal.
And, fortunately for Spurs, it seems that Kluivert would be open to following ex-Ajax alumni Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld to North London in the near future.
“If you get a nice offer, you never know,” the Dutch U21 star, who has six goals and four assists in the Eredivisie this season, told Helden before admitting interest in both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
“England appeals to me: Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United are nice clubs where I can see myself playing in a few years.”
This alone should be enough encouragement for Spurs to keep a close eye on one of the most exciting young attackers in world football. Even the shadow of a famous father does not appear to be standing in Kluivert junior’s route to the top of the game.
Earlier this month, however, the Mirror stated that Manchester United were closing in on a £10 million deal to bring Kluivert to Old Trafford.
