Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want another dazzling Serie A forward in Andrea Pinamonti.
Roberto Mancini has described Andrea Pinamonti as ‘the future’ of the Italian national team, a matter of weeks after Wolverhampton Wanderers once again expressed an interest in the Inter Milan striker.
Wolves might have suffered a difficult start to the season but the future at Molinuex remains as bright as their day-glo home kit. In Pedro Neto, Bruno Jordao, Ruben Vinagre, Meritan Shabani and Jesus Vallejo, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have signed a whole host of talented youngsters with vast potential in recent times.
Pinamonti, therefore, is very much the typical Wolves signing. The 20-year-old has only made 35 league appearances at senior level but his superb goalscoring instincts have caught the eye at reserve level with the 6ft 1ins centre-forward attracting plenty of attention in the Black Country.
Gazzetta dello Sport were the first to report, back in January 2018, that Wolves were interested. According to FC Inter News, the Premier League outfit were still keeping close tabs on Pinamonti during the U20 World Cup this summer too.
And in Roberto Mancini, the coach of Italy, Pinamonti has a rather powerful man on side.
“Italy’s next striker? Pinamonti. He is the future of the national team, he is improving,” the former Manchester City and Inter Milan manager told Radio Deejay.
These days, Pinamonti is honing his considerable talents on loan at Genoa, opening his Serie A account during a 3-3 draw with Roma on the opening day of the season.
And after raiding Italian football for Neto, Jordao and Patrick Cutrone over the summer, don’t be surprised if Pinamonti is still firmly in Wolves’ sights.
