Leeds United have reportedly opened talks to bring Kasimpasa’s Super Lig striker Mbaye Diagne to the Championship.

Leeds United fans made it very clear what they wanted this summer.
After watching on in horror as Pierre-Michel Lasogga lumbered around the Elland Road turf, Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot wasted frequent chances to impress, the supporters demanded a proven Championship goalscorer to fill the void left by Chris Wood.
And, in Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez, Leeds had identified two players who would definitely fit the bill.
Derby’s Vydra is the Championship’s current Golden Boot winner while Hernandez has a terrific record in the second tier, firing Hull into the Premier League back in 2016.
But the Yorkshire Evening Post claimed earlier this month that Leeds had gone cold on deals for the £11 million Vydra or free-agent Hernandez due to their excessive wage demands. This is hardly the sort of ambition the fans were hoping for after the stunning appointment of Marcelo Bielsa.

And new reports from Turkish Football are now claiming that Leeds have turned their attention to another unknown import. It is understood that they are in talks with Kasimpasa’s Senegalese striker Mbaye Diagne.
Though the 26-year-old scored an impressive 12 goals in 17 games since arriving in Turkey from China in January, his signing would be hugely uninspiring considering that both Vydra and Hernandez look to have slipped through the net.
Who knows, maybe Diagne would be a goalscoring revelation at Elland Road. But the 6ft 3ins striker would arrive amid plenty of scepticism.
