After reported £21m offer, Everton have already allegedly been outbid for Yerry Mina

Everton are reportedly hoping to bring Colombia’s World Cup star Yerry Mina to the Premier League from La Liga side Barcelona.

Well that did not last long. Just hours after Goal claimed that Everton had made a £21 million bid to sign Yerry Mina, it seems the Toffees have already been overtaken in the race to sign the Barcelona defender.

Mina impressed at the World Cup with Colombia, scoring against both Poland and England, and it is understood that the 23-year-old’s displays have caught the eye of an Everton side for whom new defensive reinforcements are a must.

And Goal claims that Everton have now made an official offer to sign Mina, who made just four La Liga starts since moving to Barcelona from Palmeiras in the January transfer window.

But they are not the only ones. According to TV3 (4 July), Turkish giants Fenerbahce have already outbid Everton in pursuit of the 6ft 4ins centre-half.

It is understood that Fener have offered a startling £26 million for Mina, £15 million more than Barcelona paid for him just six months ago. Considering that the Istanbul side have struggled financially of late, this alleged offer is a massive statement of intent.

But if it comes down to a straight fight between Everton and Fenerbahce, surely Farhad Moshiri’s presence as majority shareholder means the Toffees have a larger pool of cash reserves to dip into.
