The 24-year-old has made a flying start to life at QPR since signing from Bristol City last month.
Queens Park Rangers winger Luke Freeman has attributed his impressive early performances at his new club to the esteemed man-management of Ian Holloway, Get West London reports.
The former Arsenal youngster thumped home a stunning drive in only his home debut in QPR colours since completing a protracted move from Bristol City in January, though his second-half strike was not enough to prevent the hosts falling to a 2-1 home defeat to Huddersfield Town.
However, the freedom and confidence evident in Freeman’s display offers a great deal of optimism for the fans in the second half of the season and the 24-year-old has paid credit to Holloway – a man who fought tooth and nail to bring him to the club last month.
“He has been absolutely brilliant with me. He’s given me all the confidence in the world, which is what you want with a player like me,” Freeman, who came off the bench with around half an hour to go against The Terriers, told Get West London.
“I can’t thank him [enough]. He’s given me a lot of confidence and given me a chance to go out there and show what I’m capable of doing.”
Freeman mustered just two goals in 1205 minutes of Championship action for Bristol City but is already halfway to matching that tally after playing just an hours football for QPR.
Holloway has earned a reputation over the years as a manager capable of getting the best out of the attacking talents at his disposal with the likes of Charlie Adam, DJ Campbell and Gary Taylor-Fletcher all enjoying the finest periods of their career at the genial Bristolian’s free-flowing Blackpool.
And with QPR in need of more threat in the final third, Freeman’s impressive start is a good sign indeed.
