Tomas Kalas is shining in the Championship for Bristol City; no wonder Scottish Premiership champions Celtic wanted him.

If Celtic had a defender like Tomas Kalas, they might now be just two games away from qualifying for the Champions League group stage. Instead, the Hoops are now staring down the barrel of Thursday night football after a Celtic Park collapse against the Romanians of Cluj.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Hoops were keen to sign Kalas from Chelsea in an attempt to solidify a back line which has looked vulnerable against even the most middling opposition for far too long.
But their loss is most certainly Bristol City’s gain.

Eyebrows were raised when the Robins smashed their transfer record to sign the Czech Republic international for £8 millio, according to Sky Sports, but Kalas is certainly justifying that investment. He was nothing short of magnificent as Bristol City secured a shock 2-1 win away at Phillip Cocu’s Derby County on Tuesday night.
Six blocks and 11 clearances; this was a towering performance from a 6ft centre-back away at one of the Championship’s most fearsome attacking sides.
If only one of Celtic’s defenders was so ready and willing to throw his body on the line when Cluj came to town.
