Jack Ross has admitted that defender Jack Baldwin could leave the Black Cats after failing to appear in League One this season so far.

Jack Baldwin has gone from key figure to forgotten man in the blink of an eye for Sunderland.
Just three months ago, the former Peterborough United captain ended the 2018/19 campaign with 41 appearances for the Black Cats. Now, he cannot even get a place on the bench.
Baldwin was nowhere to be seen in any of Sunderland’s three League One fixtures so far this season and he remained an unused substitute during the Carabao Cup win against Accrington Stanley a week ago too.
Now, speaking to the Chronicle, manager Jack Ross has gone as far as to admit that Baldwin could go before the transfer window shuts.

“Possibly,” Ross said when asked if the 26-year-old is set to leave in the next week or so.
“He knows that if he wants to play regularly he might have to consider other options.”
But, not for the first time and probably not for the last, Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to question a decision from the former St Mirren coach.
If Ross wasn’t under fire already for an overly cautious approach and some bizarre tactical decisions, the potential sale of Baldwin threatens to increase his unpopularity among the Wearside faithful.
