Filip Krovinovic will be playing Championship football with West Bromwich Albion next season after signing on loan from Primeira Liga winners Benfica.

It will take more than 30 minutes off the bench against Rotherham United for Filip Krovinovic to establish himself as a fans’ favourite at West Bromwich Albion.
But, after making a breath-taking impact as a substitute in their 1-1 pre-season draw with The Millers on Tuesday night, the Benfica loanee is well on his way to making a real impression at the Hawthorns.
It’s fair to say Baggies fans didn’t know what to expect when the Croatian play-maker arrived on a temporary deal in July. Krovinovic made just four cameo appearances as Benfica won the Primeira Liga title last season after all.

Yet it hasn’t taken long for this gifted 23-year-old to show West Brom supporters what he’s all about.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given his nation has produced the likes of Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric in recent years, Krovinovic loves nothing more than having the ball at his feet in the number ten position.
He’s got the same silky touch as the Real Madrid and Barcelona stars while his pinpoint delivery from a second half corner set up Dara O’Shea’s equaliser.
First impressions count and Krovinovic has made an excellent one.
