Scottish Premiership powerhouses Rangers would be signing a fine player if Aaron Mooy left Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town for Ibrox.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy should consider a return to the Scottish Premiership with Rangers this summer, prominent Australian football pundit Simon Hill has told the Fox Podcast.
Mooy has been a bright spark in a dismal season for Huddersfield, the gifted play-maker standing out in a side stuck to the bottom of the Premier League and seemingly certain to return to the Championship in the very near future.
On paper, there are not many Town players who would be obvious targets for other clubs this summer but Mooy should not be short of options.
And Simon Hill, a Fox Sport pundit who has worked closely with the midfielder’s former club Melbourne City while presenting the channel’s Premier League coverage, believes that a return to Scotland should be on the cards, although Rangers would represent a more sensible move than Old Firm rivals Celtic.
He also claims that Newcastle United could be the perfect stepping stone for a player who deserves a chance to continue at the top level.

“I just wonder whether a return to the Scottish Premier League (could be on the cards) with maybe a Rangers,” said Hill.
“Maybe go to one of the big two. Probably not Celtic because they’ve got Tommy Rogic but you never know. I just wonder whether (a move to Rangers) might be a possibility.
“Or maybe somewhere like a Newcastle. Let’s be honest, he’s not going to go to Man United or Man City or Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea etc but I think that next tier down of club is a possibility.”
Whether Rangers could afford a deal for Mooy is another matter altogether. The BBC reports that Huddersfield paid £8 million to sign the former St Mirren starlet from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
Newcastle, however, could find themselves in need of a new midfielder with Jonjo Shelvey expected to leave next summer.
