Victor Orta is fighting to save his reputation at Leeds United and wants to bring new players into the Championship club this summer.
So Victor Orta will not be leaving Leeds United this summer.
The much-maligned talent-spotter was on the shortlist to become the new director of football at recently relegated Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna this summer, news that was greeted with joy from many Leeds supporters frustrated by the lack of quality brought to Elland Road during his reign in West Yorkshire.
The report adds that he is keen on bringing in proven, domestic-based talents like Oli McBurnie and Kyle Bartley after the haphazard recruitment of last season, where players arrived from Spain, Holland, Germany, Albania and even Japan.
Though, in a tweet posted by the FairPlay Agency’s official Twitter account, Dino Lamberti has spent time at Elland Road and he clearly has a high opinion of Orta.
Nothing yet is known about what Orta and Lamberti discussed during their time together and it remains to be seen whether Leeds are keen to sign any more of FairPlay’s talents after landing Ezgjian Alioski last summer.
Alioski is one of the most well known players on Lamberti’s books, alongside Borussia Monchengladbach’s talismanic centre-forward Raffael and Besiktas’ former Barcelona left-back Adriano.
Interestingly, The Whites could do with reinforcements on the left hand side of their defence.
