Inter Milan’s Serie A centre-back Milan Skriniar was watched by the Premier League’s top six, including Liverpool, in Slovakia’s clash with Wales.

Reports over the weekend suggested one of the best centre-backs anywhere in world football could be on his way to Anfield – for just £30 million.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are very interested in the Inter Milan powerhouse Milan Skriniar alongside the rest of the Premier League’s top six. It is claimed that scouts from a number of clubs were in attendance as Skriniar’s Slovakia travelled to Wales for Sunday’s Euro 2020 qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Liverpool have enjoyed a superb season and are still in contention to win both the Premier League and the Champions League.

So it would be harsh to criticise any member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad right now, particularly Joel Matip given that the Cameroon international has stepped up impressively in Joe Gomez’s absence.
But, with all due respect to Matip, Skriniar is simply at another level. The former Sampdoria defender has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs on the back of two superb seasons at the San Siro, forming an fearsome partnership with Dutchman Stefan de Vrij.
If Inter are really willing to let him go for £30 million, this could be the deal of the century.
